What we see in Vaughan
The most common pestsin Vaughan homes.
Ongoing construction across Vaughan pushes rodents into finished homes.
Peak: September to March
Cockroaches
German cockroaches spread between units through shared walls and plumbing, so apartments and townhouse rows often need neighbouring units treated too.
Bed bugs
They travel in luggage, used furniture and shared laundry rooms. Common in rentals, basement units and multi-unit buildings.
Ants and carpenter ants
Pavement ants march in each spring. Carpenter ants nest in damp or damaged wood around decks, windows and rooflines.
Wasps and mosquitoes
Wasp nests grow fastest in late summer under eaves and in sheds. Mosquitoes breed in standing water in yards, planters and eavestroughs.

Vaughan FAQ
Vaughan questions,answered.
Why do new homes in Vaughan get mice?
Nearby construction disturbs rodents, and new builds often have gaps around utility lines and garage doors while the ground settles. Sealing those gaps is the long-term fix.
Do you cover Kleinburg and rural Vaughan?
Yes. We cover all of Vaughan, including Kleinburg and the rural north, as well as nearby Woodbridge, Richmond Hill and Brampton.
Can you treat carpenter ants in my deck?
Yes. Carpenter ants nest in damp or damaged wood. We locate the nest, treat it and tell you which wood needs repair so they do not return.
How fast can you get to my Vaughan home?
Our usual response time is within 1 business day. Urgent calls, such as wasp nests by a door, get priority.
Are you licensed to do pest control in Ontario?
Exterm Pest Control holds an Ontario Ministry of the Environment, Conservation and Parks structural exterminator licence. Ontario requires one for anyone who performs extermination, unless exempt.
