Mouse & rat control
How do I know if I have mice or rats?
Mouse droppings are small, about the size of a grain of rice, and pointed at the ends. Rat droppings are larger, about 1 to 2 cm long. Rats also leave burrows along foundations and are more likely to be active outside. Your technician confirms which one it is at the inspection.
How long does it take to get rid of mice?
Most homes see activity drop within one to two weeks. A typical program is an initial visit plus a follow-up, and sealing entry points is what keeps them from coming back.
Are the bait stations safe around kids and pets?
We use tamper-resistant, lockable stations placed in areas children and pets cannot reach, such as behind appliances, in wall voids or outside along the foundation. Your technician explains where each one is.
Why are rodent calls rising in Toronto?
City of Toronto rodent service requests rose from 1,165 in 2015 to 2,523 in 2024. Warmer winters, a growing population and construction that displaces colonies all contribute.
Bed bug treatment
Do neighbouring units need treatment too?
Often, yes. In condos, apartments, townhouses and basement units, bed bugs travel through shared walls and laundry rooms. We can treat neighbouring units at the same visit so the problem does not bounce back.
Can I stay at home during treatment?
No. Everyone, including pets, needs to be out during treatment and until your technician says it is safe to return. For heat treatment, plan for 6 to 8 hours.
Should I throw out my mattress?
Usually not. Mattresses and box springs can be treated, and encasements help trap any survivors. Throwing furniture out can spread bed bugs to other rooms and neighbours.
Cockroach control
Why do cockroaches spread between condo units?
Shared walls, plumbing chases and garbage chutes connect units, so cockroaches move between them. Treating one unit alone often fails, which is why we coordinate with neighbours or property managers.
Should I use store-bought sprays before you come?
Please do not. Sprays repel cockroaches away from the bait and scatter them deeper into walls, which makes treatment slower.
How long does cockroach treatment take to work?
You will usually see fewer cockroaches within one to two weeks as they feed on the bait. Heavy infestations need a follow-up visit.
Ant & carpenter ant control
Carpenter ants or termites: how can I tell?
Carpenter ants have a narrow, pinched waist and bent antennae, and they push out fine sawdust. Termites have a thick waist and straight antennae, and leave mud tubes. Termites are rarer in most of the GTA, but a technician can confirm.
Why do ants keep coming back every spring?
If only the trail is sprayed, the colony survives and sends out new workers. Treating the colony and sealing entry points is what lasts.
Do carpenter ants damage houses?
They do not eat wood, but they excavate it to nest, usually in wood that is already damp or rotting. Over time that can weaken trim, decks and framing.
Wasp & hornet nest removal
Should I remove a wasp nest myself?
Small nests away from the house can sometimes be left alone until frost kills the colony. Nests near doors, inside walls, high up, or anywhere near someone with a sting allergy should be handled by a professional.
Do wasps come back to the same nest?
No. Colonies die off in fall and wasps do not reuse old nests, but new queens may build nearby next year, so we seal entry points into walls and soffits.
How fast can you come for a wasp nest?
Nests by a doorway or play area get priority. Same-day appointments are often available.
Fleas, mosquitoes & more
Why do fleas come back after treatment?
Flea eggs and pupae survive in carpets and furniture and hatch over a few weeks. Vacuuming daily after treatment and treating every pet with a vet-recommended product breaks the cycle.
Are silverfish and centipedes harmful?
They are not dangerous, but large numbers point to a moisture problem. Reducing humidity in basements and bathrooms helps as much as treatment.
Do you treat yards for mosquitoes?
Yes. We treat the shady areas where mosquitoes rest and show you the standing water where they breed.
